Also called: Immune Stimulants, Immune Boosters

Immune stimulant herbs work by activating and increasing the activity of the immune system, helping the body with a faster, stronger response to invading pathogens.

What they do:

  • Increase white blood cell activity and production

  • Enhance the body's ability to recognize and fight pathogens

  • Shorten the duration and severity of colds, flu, and other acute infections

  • Support the body's natural defenses during times of increased exposure

When to consider them:

At the very first sign of a cold, flu, or other illness — the sooner they're started, the more effective they tend to be. Also useful during seasons of high exposure (school year, travel, cold and flu season) or when the immune system needs extra support. Most often taken at the first sign of illness, and continued for several days to a week

Herbs

  • Elderberry

  • Echinacea

  • Garlic (also works as an herbal antibiotic, killing pathogens)

  • Ashwagandha

  • Astragalus

  • Medicinal mushrooms

  • Chlorella

  • Thyme
